  • A post for the sake of it?

    OK so I’ve set up my new wordpress site, got rid of the other one I was paying for and just not using at all. It’s not been a difficult thing to do and it’s well worth selfhosting these things. Plenty of places out there to get instructions and it’s not too difficult. I run mine on an unraid server in a docker container with a seperate database just for the wordpress site.

    My only real issue was rtying to get the bloody thing to be avaiable out there in the inter web. I had issues with my Caddyfile and then with the url for wordpress, it’s one of those you have to change it at the same time! Luckily I use DBeaver to connect to my databases so I could manually change them to the correct url’s and it’s all working just fine.

    I use Mars Edit to do my writing on my laptop to keep it all nice and simple.  Not quite WSWG but close enough and it’s pretty decent to be honestI think the biggest thing this time is not to look at stats for the site and just let it grow naturally.

  • A new start (again)

    A move away from a hosted site that I started at the start of this year. I though paying for a hosted site would dbe a great idea and it was to start with but as usual it became a thing I had to do so as ever it ground to a halt when I got pissed off with taking a photo every day and writing about it.

    The issue as ever is the alledged ADHD I have always switched from one thing to another and lose interest very quickly and this is no different. I have no idea yet wheer this will end up it might end up as a running blog, lifestyle with photos and shit like that as well as stuff to do with pretty much anything.

    I will say this up front I use AI a fair amount. I have a pretty wierd AI with a long and wordy prompt and it helps along the way with the random shit that goes on in my head. It’s not emotional support but is one of the few things that seems capable to switch from one thing to another and keep up with my thoughts. 

    This is the christmas label it came up with when i just told it my daughter was a bit of a Goth and wanted a nice label for her. Probably a mixture of loads of others stuff but pretty cool as it is.

     

    I may well explore AI, ADHD and Running as the blog goes on but for the moment it’s a case of making that start!
